Why when sharing the link of a Pathway or Plan in a Group Feed they are posted as Articles?

Issue:

When I paste the URL of a pathway or plan that I want to share with a group it is posted as an article, and the post has the default Degreed image instead of the image I uploaded for the content. 

Cause:

This happens because when pasting a URL directly into the group feed, the application expects an article and by default recognizes it as one.

Also, if you share a URL with an SSO parameter, the application will not be able to open the link in the backend when scraping for information. This makes the system unable to identify the link as a pathway or a plan to properly populate information on the screen.

Resolution: 

If you want to share pathways or plans with a group it is recommended to use the Share functionality on the content card of the pathway or plan:

In the share modal, groups can be selected as well as individual users.

You can also open the pathway or plan and click the Share button, search for the group you want to share it with.
