Why do I get notifications when an item is added to every pathway I follow?

Issue:

When I follow a pathway, the NEW label is displayed whenever new content is added and if I have completed at least one item on that pathway. However, I always receive notifications regardless of whether I have completed one item. Is this expected?

Yes, this is the expected behavior according to the current design.

Resolution:

Please note that the NEW label for new content added to a pathway will only be displayed if at least one item in that pathway is completed. However, notifications are always received regardless of whether you have already completed any content or not.

Additional Note:

Although these are two features that are somehow connected, it doesn't imply that they have the same behavior. Notifications will always be sent when new items are added if the user follows the pathway. However, the NEW label will only be displayed if the user follows AND has completed at least one item on that same pathway.
