Why is my Udemy for Business certificate showing numbers or letters instead of my name and email? Can I change this?

Issue:

When I finish a course in Udemy for Business, I receive an email showing a number (ID) and a strange email. I expect it to show my name, Degreed username, or corporate email. Why is it showing this way? Can I add my personal information to the certificate?

Cause:

Your organization may choose to keep your identity anonymous. This means that the provider (Udemy)  does not have any personal identifiable information [PII] about you in their systems. A number ID and an anonymized email address are assigned to you. This information is kept on Degreed's backend, where it is linked to your organization's account, in order to track your learning. This allows external providers to have minimal access to your private information.

Resolution:

If your organization has decided to anonymize your data on third-party providers, then you won't be able to change the information on your certificate.
