Degreed Ends Support for Internet Explorer 11

We ended support for Microsoft's Internet Explorer 11 (IE11) in our December 7, 2021 Major Release. As of February 1, 2022, Degreed is no longer functional on IE11.

Overview

Given Microsoft’s reduction in primary support for Internet Explorer 11 (IE11) in 2021 and our subsequent conversations with many of you, it’s clear that changes to our IE11 support are necessary to best support your ongoing transition away from the legacy browser. In our data analysis and discussions with clients that still have significant populations on IE11, we have some clear takeaways:

• Across the board, companies are transitioning away from IE11 and Degreed can take steps to help encourages users to use a newer preferred browser
• Continuing to support IE11 long-term will negatively impact the performance and user experience for the majority of your users on modern browsers

During the limited support period, Degreed continued to be available in IE11, but as of February 1, 2022, we are prioritizing the delivery of the best user experience for the vast majority of users now on modern browsers, and as such, users can no longer access Degreed on IE11.

Changes in the February 1, 2022 Minor Release

You can no longer access Degreed using Internet Explorer 11. You are redirected to a landing page that encourages you to switch to a modern browser:

Changes in the December 7, 2021 Major Release

This release, we will discontinue all support for IE 11. Any IE 11 issues reported to Degreed will not be investigated or fixed. You may still access Degreed while using IE 11, but we do not guarantee the same usability, availability of features, or experience you will have using one of our supported browsers. 

Changes in the August 6, 2021 Major Release

This release will include changes that will improve performance and usability for all non-IE11 users, and begin a series of breaking changes for IE11 users.

Changes in the April 9, 2021 Major Release

• An in-app notification for only IE11 users, encouraging them to switch to a preferred browser
• Change to a limited support model for IE11, in which Degreed features will increasingly not be optimized for use in the legacy browser and low impact bugs only affecting this browser will be deprioritized
